Melpomeni Perdikopoulou<\/strong> (1990) is a graduate of the Department of History and Archaeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a Master’s Degree in Byzantine Archaeology and the Protection, Conservation, and Restoration of Cultural Monuments. She obtained her PhD from the same department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a dissertation titled “The Alaca Imaret of Thessaloniki and the Institution of Imarets in the Balkans”. She has professional experience in the field of rescue excavations, research, and teaching. Her main research interests include the history of the early Ottoman period, Ottoman architecture in Greece and the Balkans, and the topography of early Ottoman cities. She has published numerous articles in academic journals and collective volumes, focusing on Ottoman architecture and historiography. Since the beginning of 2024, she has been an Academic Collaborator at the Research Center for the Humanities. She speaks English, French and Turkish.<\/p>\n
