Dimitris Kataiftsis<\/strong> is an anthropologist specializing in issues related to economy and gender, with a primary research focus on Greeks from the former USSR. He completed his postgraduate and doctoral studies at the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne in Paris and subsequently conducted two postdoctoral research projects (at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi, Romania, and the University of Macedonia). He has published a book based on his doctoral dissertation, participated in numerous conferences, and has had articles published in both Greek and international journals and volumes. Today, he teaches anthropology courses as an external collaborator in the Department of Balkan, Slavic, and Oriental Studies at the University of Macedonia, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, while also conducting his third postdoctoral research entitled: “Post-Soviet Economies of Orthodox Pilgrimage. Ethnographing Networks, Spiritual Quests, and Material Pleasures in the Palimpsest of Relations between Russian Speakers and Mount Athos.”<\/p>\n
