Apart from the funding of post-doctoral research proposals, the Research Centre for the Humanities (RCH) extends its endeavor to promote the humanities in Greece further, through namely:
- the articulation of an agenda for the multifarious significance of the humanities. In this regard, the RCH is organizing regular scientific meetings of all the RCH fellows on a year basis. Its aim is to create a wide network of new scholars and a dynamic new research community with the RCH as its reference point.
- the creation of a space for the development of new trends that are being discussed within the international community of the relevant fields.
- the close collaboration with similar Centres and Institutes abroad.
The RCH has signed a bilateral agreement with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). The agreement establishes the collaborative promotion of the humanities and social sciences (for example, the history of science, epistemology, sociology of the sciences etc.) through joint research projects and scientific conferences. Within this context, the RCH participated in the CERN History Days Workshop (February 1-2, 2018, at CERN headquarters in Geneva) aiming to investigate the possibility of relaunching the earlier CERN history project, which was concluded in 1996 with the publication of a collected 3-volume edition on the history of CERN from 1954 to 1980.
